Battlefield 2042: DICE shares beta feedback and upcoming changes

Post-obit the conclusion of the Battlefield 2042 beta, developer DICE has shared a brand new weblog postal service in which the studio goes over the major pieces of feedback that information technology collected during the Open Beta period. Some of the biggest takeaways from the beta were that the servers weren't properly backfilling players and used bots also frequently, that the UI was difficult to read and didn't convey enough information, and that team communication was difficult. In response, DICE has stated that it was able to solve the server issues during the Open Beta, and that a system called Large Map is being implemented and then that players can get a clear overview of the battlefield when they demand it.

Additionally, players can also expect UI elements on the HUD to be more organized and readable thanks to position shifts, clearer indicators that will go far easier to tell who is an enemy and who isn't, and the usage of highlighted friend-or-foe colors. Players will also have access to Battlefield's traditional Commorose organization (it was disabled during the beta) that allows players to make simple preset callouts to each other.

Dice also discussed Battlefield 2042's Specialists at length, acknowledging that the limited number of Specialists bachelor in the beta made squad play feel lacking in terms of depth. However, the studio ultimately stood past the Specialist system, noting that it felt "there were multiple factors in play during the Open Beta that ... contributed to the perception of how the Specialists role contributes to team play in Battlefield 2042." These factors primarily include the aforementioned issues with the UI and squad advice avenues.

The developers as well shared some of the core gameplay changes that players can expect when Battlefield 2042 launches. These include the following:

  • Increased the number of Tanks that you lot'll feel on Orbital. It'southward up from four, to 8 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation five.
  • Made changes to motion, calculation strafe input to sliding, adding the ability to vault on moving objects, and toning down bound spamming.
  • A nearby Grenade Indicator has been added.
  • Entry and Exit animations for vehicles are at present shorter, with some being removed entirely.
  • Elevators have been fixed so that yous encounter less funky behaviours with doors.

Battlefield 2042 is slated to launch on Nov. xix, 2022, with Early Admission to the game starting on Nov. 12 for players who have preordered the Battlefield 2042 Ultimate Edition. DICE has confirmed that as the game's launch draws nearer, the developers will share boosted updates then that players sympathise what they tin expect from the full game.
